Cabin Fever ROGAINE

The Cabin Fever ROGAINE -- Feburary 7, 2009-- 360 MINUTES of foot navigation in Tar Hollow State Park/Forest. ....cold...snow....wet....post holiday blues......post football depression.....It's time to get out and get some excercise, see the hills of southern Ohio on foot while navigating to checkpoints. This event is always a nice break from cabin fever. Gather up your friend's, your family or co-workers and join us for 360 minutes at Tar Hollow State Park/Forest for a foot ROGAINE or maybe it'll be a Snowgaine???? Visit as many checkpoints as you wish in the 360 minutes alotted. The most points win and everyone else gets to claim victory from winter boredom. We will have HOT food and drinks for everyone and awards for the top finishers.

Race of Hope

The Race of Hope-- June 20, 2009--
8 hours of trekking, paddling, mountain biking, camping, eating and navigation at Lake Hope State Park and Zaleski State Forest near Zaleski, OH.
Back to Zaleski again for an eight hour adventure race of Hope. Hope you make it back from the beaver dam this year. Yes, more challenging, bigger beavers, bigger course, but again, you only get eight hours to complete the course without penalties. You will get to trek, paddle, mountain bike and plenty of navigation through this awesome park/forest. We will end with with a cookout, awards and prizes.
*A portion of proceeds will be donated to The Friends of Lake Hope and The American Cancer Society in honor of our good friend and adventure racer Kim Smith. Lake Hope was her favorite place to ride and race.

Chalahgawtha Green Corn Moon ROGAINE-- August 9, 2009--
6 hours of foot navigation under a full moon in The Great Seal State Park near Chillicothe, OH.
Come to Chalahgawtha (Chillicothe) to escape the summer heat under a Green Corn Moon (Full) to locate hidden checkpoints in The Great Seal State Park by foot for six hours.
Beginning at midnight you will travel in the footsteps of our native american brothers, The Shawnee to explore this little park near Ohio's first capital, Chillicothe (Chalahgawtha).
Great Seal Park is a treat to bushwack since there is little undergrowth and should make for fast nighttime navigation. As a bonus you will visit many scenic overlooks. (too bad it'll be dark) The 20+ miles of trails are very well maintained and marked. The event will finish at 6am with a big breakfast, awards and prizes.

Ohio Adventure Sports Championship Race

Tentatively planned for October will be the inaugral running of Ohio's first adventure sports championship race. This exciting new event is produced by all three Ohio adventure race promoters. (TopoAdventureSports, RACE-COAR and NSFAdventures)
Teams and solos will compete in a classic 12 hour adventure race to be crowned Ohio's 2009 adventure racing champion. Qualification is required before entering into this event. Earn points by participating in ROGAINE's and Adventure Races beginning with The Cabin Fever ROGAINE.

12 hours of navigation in The Scioto Trail State Park/Forest near Chillicothe, OH.
50% Daytime 50% Nightime
50% Payback 50% survivors??
50% FUN 50% pain
Begin your adventure into Scioto Trail State Park/Forest in daylight at 11am to collect as many CP's as you can in the daylight. Then you'll enjoy finishing up the course under a new (no) moon until 11pm. What awaits in the dark, dark night this year?? Remember the stories from last year?? The team that survives with the most points will get 50% of the entry fee back. We will finish the event with hot food, drinks, prizes and awards at 11 pm.
